I didn’t start out with a dream of building a business. Rewind to 2019, I just wanted more autonomy. More space to think, create, and live life on my own terms. I wanted to choose the clients I work with, the projects I pour my heart into, and yes—even what time I wake up in the morning. Starting my own firm gave me that freedom. And while running a business hasn’t always been easy, the rewards have far outweighed the risks.

Through my practice, Jenn Smith Architect, Inc., I design custom homes that are as practical as they are personal—spaces that support how people actually live. My work is rooted in collaboration, clarity, and creating beauty that functions effortlessly. Every home is a unique story, and I take pride in helping clients write theirs with purpose and intention.

But beyond residential architecture, I’ve found another calling: supporting other heart-led designers and architects who want to do work that matters without burning out in the process. Through courses, checklists, resources, and strategy sessions, I share what I’ve learned to help others navigate the wild ride of being a residential design professional.
